The History Center of Cheboygan is pleased to announce Volume Two of the Center’s History Series, “A Memorable Trip Down the Cheboygan River”. The book takes you on a winding course from the head of the Cheboygan River at Mullett Lake down to Lake Huron, explaining spots along the way. It gives some of the history of each, including lots of pictures from our archives. Included are bridges, businesses, the Poor Farm, a brewery, Watsonville, fisheries, marinas and old swimming holes.
"A Memorable Trip Down the Cheboygan River" is the second installment of the history series of books put together by the History Center of Cheboygan. The first book was titled "When Main Street Was A Path Among the Stumps," and is also available for purchase with the second volume.
These books are being sold as a fundraiser, to help support the History Center of Cheboygan and its operations of the Cheboygan County museum. The museum is working to raise awareness of the history of the City of Cheboygan and its surrounding areas, as well as continuing to preserve that history for future generations.
